Construction

Setout Surveys

The building goes where the architect drew it, in relation to the parcel boundaries.

Setout Surveys in construction work across Waikato, Auckland and the Bay of Plenty

A setout survey locates a building, structure or architectural design on the land, relative to the boundaries. It is how engineers and builders construct what was designed, in the right place.

Get it wrong and the consent fails

A building set outside the designed position can breach height in relation to boundary or minimum boundary setbacks rules and stop a certificate of compliance. Our surveyors and licensed cadastral surveyors set the work out so that does not happen.

FAQ

About setout surveys.

What happens if a building is set out in the wrong place?

A building placed too close to a boundary can breach height in relation to boundary or setback rules, which may require design changes, a resource consent or other approvals, and additional cost. A setout survey positions the building relative to the surveyed boundaries so it is built in accordance with the approved plans and the district plan.
